Announcements for 09-10-07Attention Speech Team students : Our meeting is in room 306 immediately after school today. It will be short, but please plan on attending, especially if you plan to compete in our first tournament at Iowa City West. 9-10 Don't forget, SADD will be meeting in room 415 tomorrow at 7:15 a.m. 9-10 The freshman football team suffered a disappointing loss to Assumption on Saturday, September 8, 2007 but still had some outstanding performances. Demerus Gordon had another exceptional game leading Central’s offense in total rushing yards. Our defense was again led by Blake Moe with strong performances by Tyries Wilson, Dwayne Phillips, TJ Meyers and Logan Peterschmidt. Our next challenge is Thursday night against Burlington. Go Blue Devils!!!! 9-10 Some of you have not picked up your yearbooks yet, please do so soon. You can pick them up in room 417 before and after school from Mrs. Jasper. There are also a few remaining books for the 06/07 school year which can be purchased for $65.00 in room 417. 9-10 Also if you haven’t had a chance to purchase one for the 2007- 2008 school year now is the time. The price is a low $55.00 but will be going up soon! Stop in with cash or a check made out to Central yearbook and get yours ordered now! Get your Yearbooks today!!! 9-10 Blue Crew members; there will be a brief meeting in the library on Wednesday, September 12th at 7:15am. Please attend. 9-11 Publications students: Remind your parents of the important parent meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Kemper. Agenda includes: trips, contests, and fund raising. 9-11 Newspaper students: All stories must be in, proofed, and corrected by Friday. The lab will be open after school Tuesday. 9-11 Calling all students--- let's hear your voice. There are five days left to submit materials to "Lift Every Voice" ---the theme is Coexistence. Get materials to Kemper 14 or place them in Ms. Buttleman Malcolm's mailbox in the front office. 9-11 Friday, we will celebrate "Constitution Day" here. Help show why the United States Constitution is important and what it means to you in your life now and for your future. The amendments happened because change was needed as the country grew. Don't forget what the amendments have done to add opportunity to your life. Whether as part of a club, class, or as an individual contribution, show support of Constitution Day with pennies, art, music, or writing displays during all lunches in the cafeteria. 9-11 There will be NO BLUE VIBES REHEARSAL today. Remember, we will rehearse NEXT Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with Tara! 9-10 Central Singers show choir WILL rehearse tonight from 5:00 - 8:00. 9-10-07 Hey freshman!! Want to dance with your friends? Do you want to meet other freshman? Then come to the freshman only dance Wednesday, September 12th from 6-8pm in the cafeteria. Wear your freshman T-shirt to get in free. Pizza and pop will be on sale for $1, the disco dancing, however is free! See you there! 9/12 All publication students remind your parents that there is a Parents of Publication Students meeting Tuesday September 11 at 7p.m. in Kemper. Trips and competitions will be discussed. 9/11 Today, September 10th! 2nd and 3rd block, a representative from Wyo-Tech will be in room 151 to discuss opportunities and training in the auto repair field. Wyo-Tech is a leading technical school for automotive training in the U.S. Come listen to Mr. Ron Billiet explains the advantages of their two year auto program. See Mr. Christiansen for further information or come 2nd or 3rd block on Monday with a permission slip from your teacher. 9/10 The Sophomore Scholastic Bowl team will be practicing on Tuesday, September 11th at 7:00 a.m. This practice will be for sophomores only. New members are welcome and encouraged to try out this fun, challenging, and fast-paced activity. Come join us Tuesday morning! 9/10 Today, there will be a representative from Northwestern University in the Guidance Office at 1:00pm. 9/10 Attention Yearbook Staff: Remember we are meeting with our company rep on today at 2:45 in the yearbook room.
