  • Will the following students please stop by the Activities Office before the end of the day: Kelsey Anson, Shane Banks, Akayla Baumann, Joshua Behrendt, Sarah Berendes, Jerry Bergthold, Jillian Belman, Kurt Blevins, Taylor Bley, Kenya Bostic, Ryan Brandt
  • Shades of Success/Boys to Men meets every Wednesday at 1:40-2:30pm in room 419. You may join at any time. Bring a friend and come join the fun and success will be your reward! 9-10
  • Attention seniors! The lists that were posted yesterday for open campus were in error! Please recheck the new lists posted today. You may be on this one and were not on Yesterday's list. The opposite may also be true. If you filled out the open campus form but did not qualify, we will keep it on file for next term when you will actually qualify! We regret any inconvenience this may have caused you. Those who were not eligible due to ITED scores will have the opportunity to re-qualify this term for next term open campus. See Mr. Classon with any questions. Thank you. 9/10
  • Publications students there will be a Parents of Publications meeting concerning state and nationals Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in Kemper. If you are interested in attending you and your parents should be there. Commit date is Thursday. 9-9
  • Newspaper students- if you have not turned in your assignments for issue 2, they are past due. Get them to Ms Buttleman today. 9-9
  • Coming to all lunches Friday- bring your pennies to watch your peers perform. It's a Constitution Day political rally of issues in honor of Constitution Day. Don't forget to wear your red, white and blue. This event is sponsored by Quill & Scroll as is the mock election second block Monday. As in past years pennies collected from the skits go to the Student Press Law Center. Publications students please notify your third block teachers and Lindsay Whalen what extra lunch you will be performing. 9-12
  • Attention all Students: Picture Retakes are next Monday September 15th from 7-11am in the LMC. 9-12
  • Attention juniors. A list is posted outside of 425 and on the office window of those juniors qualified for commons. Commons will begin this Wednesday. You MUST have your student ID. Last year's ID will work to be admitted into commons. If you do not have an ID, check into a guided study group and have that teacher email Mr. Classon that you were in attendance. If you have any questions, see Mr. Classon in 419. 9-10
  • Hey Centralians - you have only one more week to join Key Club before our fall sign up cutoff! If you like helping your community and having fun, come to our meeting today after school in the cafeteria, by the Oasis. Also, to all those already in Key Club - be there today too! This is the last reminder of our weekly meetings - from now on, you're going to have to remember on your own! We start taking attendance at today's meeting, so see you there! 9/9
  • Publications Students: Both newspaper and yearbook labs will be open on Mondays and Tuesdays until 4:30 unless otherwise posted. Use these times to get things done—Make your deadlines! 9/11
  • Do you love to watch Jeopardy?  Are you good at Trivial Pursuit?  Do your friends think that you know a lot about a certain topic?  Did you participate in Math Counts in intermediate school?  If so, Scholastic Bowl needs you!  The Freshman Scholastic Bowl team will hold their first practice on Thursday, September 11th at 7:00 a.m. in room 501.  This is for freshmen only.  If you are interested in playing on the CHS Scholastic Bowl team, come on Thursday to find out about the fun.  See you there! 9-10
  • Blue Devil Workshop will be meeting Wednesday September 10th at 6:00 TO 8:30 P.M. in the welding room #155 or see Mr. Hatfield. See you there. 9-9
  • Blue Devils - please come out and support the Girl’s Swim Team at their first home meet tonight against Burlington at 5:00 pm.  We hope to see you there! 9-9
  • Last night, in George Marshall Gym the Lady Blue Devils played their first match of the volleyball season.  The freshmen team lost a hard fought battle to Muscatine.  The sophomores easily defeated Burlington in two games, and the JV beat Burlington in three games.  The varsity team defeated Burlington in three games.  Thanks to all the fans that came out to support our team last night.  And, If your feeling like a drive all 4 teams play again tonight in Muscatine. 9-9
  • Attention students: This year we will be holding a Mini-Olympics to kick off Homecoming Spirit Week. The activities will take place on Sunday, September 28 at 4pm by the baseball field at Brady Street. Sign-up sheets are outside the LMC and outside the main office. Each team will of 8 members. Hey Blue Devil staff, we challenge you to come up with a team. 9-9
  • Cool weather is on its way. You will need hats, scarves and mittens before you know it. Come learn how to make your own snuggly sweaters and afghans at the fiber arts club starting Tuesday, September 9th. See Mrs. McCunn in room 337 for details. 9-9
  • Attention: I-JAG Students! Remember to bring a sack lunch, jacket and gloves if you have them for tomorrow’s (Wednesday, September 10) Live United Outing. Both 1st and 2nd block classes are to meet in room 640 (I-JAG classroom) promptly at 7:45 a.m., for attendance. We will be boarding the bus shortly thereafter. 9-9
  • 3 on 3 intramural basketball players don’t forget to be here by 7 a.m., tomorrow, for the start of the tournament.
