Announcements for 09-06-07Kaplan University College will be here today from 11:00 – 1:00 in the cafeteria. 9/6 Monday, September 10th, there will be a representative from Northwestern University in the Guidance Office at 1:00pm. 9/10 "All girls planning to play soccer in the spring need to attend an informational meeting about off-season workouts Friday Sept. 7 at 2:45p.m. in the cafeteria. If you are unable to attend make sure you see Coach Petersen in the gym before Friday." Hey all you science-loving Blue Devils: Central's new Chemistry Club is starting up for the year, and we're looking for members! We're do fun labs, visit local companies that use chemistry, and just have a good time! Our first meeting will be Thursday, Sept.13th at 2:40 in room 629 after school. See you there! Our boy’s golf team continued it’s dominance of the MAC conference by beating PV and Dub. Hempstead on Tuesday. Our Blue Devils shot even par as a team to beat PV by 9 and Hempstead by 20. Connor Gillund was meet medalist shooting a 1 under par 35 and was backed up by Lee Johanson and Grant Kilmer with scores of 36. Austin Teel finished the scoring with a 37 which included an incredible eagle on the tough par 5, 6th hole. Central is a perfect 9-0 in conference play, has won the Muscatine invitational and leads the 1st round of the conference tournament by 2 strokes over Bettendorf, the #1 ranked team in Iowa. Go Blue Devils 9/6 Due to construction, all CHS volleyball fans attending the game this evening against North, please use the West sports lobby doors. 9/6 "Lift Every Voice" is using the theme Coexistence for its first theme. Because we want all the voices to have the opportunity to be heard the magazine is accepting contributions of art, photography, poetry, and essays (fewer than 200 words) between now and September 17. Please submit contributions as a word document, PDF or Jpeg file emailed to Ms Buttleman along with contact information (Name email, and phone) or drop by Kemper 14 to load. First block see David Whalen; 2nd block see Dallas Burke; third block see Deena DeLeon; and 4th block see Anna Williams. 9/7 Constitution Day will be officially celebrated here Friday, September 14. Start saving your pennies to bring to school that day. Penny Press your favorite journalism student to tell you about the constitutional issues during all lunches. Wear a newspaper hat that Friday and or red, white, blue. Help create posters to show why the constitution is important to students today who will be the citizens of tomorrow. 9/7 All publication students remind your parents that there is a Parents of Publication Students meeting Tuesday September 11 at 7p.m. in Kemper. Trips and competitions will be discussed. 9/7 Monday! Monday! Monday! September 10th! 2nd and 3rd block, a representative from Wyo-Tech will be in room 151 to discuss opportunities and training in the auto repair field. Wyo-Tech is a leading technical school for automotive training in the U.S. Come listen to Mr. Ron Billiet explains the advantages of their two year auto program. See Mr. Christiansen for further information or come 2nd or 3rd block on Monday with a permission slip from your teacher. 9/7 Students, this is a reminder that picture retakes are today in the library. Anyone who did not get their pictures at registration should get their picture today for a school ID. 9/6 Attention all Blue Devils you can pick up your ID cards at all lunches this week. You will need to know your homeroom number when you pick them up. If you ordered pictures you can pick those up at all lunches also. 9/7 Blue Devils don't forget to turn your orange or purple parking tags in for the new improved white one. You can change them at all lunches this week. Starting next week you will have to have the new white permit or your car will be towed. 9/7 Hey all you athletes, FCA is this Friday morning at 7:00 AM in the Auditorium. Bring a teammate and get Game Ready. 9/6
