Students who haven’t picked up their school pictures and ID’s, the are now available in the Activities Office at passing time or before and after school. 9-4
Do you want to know more about TAG at Central? Are you interested in Mock Trial, Environmental Club, Book Club, National History Day, or Scholastic Bowl? If so, there will be a brief Freshman Introductory TAG meeting on Thursday, September 4 at either 7:15 a.m. or 2:45 p.m. in room 501. Students can come to either meeting. Refreshments will be served. This meeting is for freshman only. 9-4
Any senior student who is interested in serving as a student representative on the Davenport School Board needs to see Mr. Wernentin for additional information no later than Wednesday, September 3!!! 9-3
The cast of Guys and Dolls will have its first official meeting in Kahler Auditorium on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 7:00 PM for a read-through/sing-through of the show! All cast members should plan to attend this first official meeting. Directly following the read-through, at approximately 8:00 PM, the directors will hold a parent volunteer meeting for any and all parents who wish to be involved in this year’s production. Parents should plan to be present if they wish to volunteer their time in ANY WAY! 9-3
Central's Environmental Club will be having its first meeting next Wednesday, September 3rd in room 501. We will be distributing recycling bins to teachers and discussing future projects. Cookies will be served! Anyone interested is invited and welcome to attend. Please come! 9-3
On June 12th, Davenport Fire Department Captain Bob Juarez, was seriously injured while battling a structure fire in Downtown Davenport. Captain Juarez spent a month in Peoria at OSF St. Francis Hospital. Currently he is a Genesis West in the physical rehab. unit, where he continues on his road to recovery. Sunday, September 7th at 1:00pm, there will be a trivia event for intermediate and high school students at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. All proceeds from this event will be deposited to the established account for the Juarez family at the Davenport Fire Department Credit Union.
Central Students here is your challenge!! Get your team together! 8 people per table!! The CHS table with the highest score of the afternoon will be awarded a CHS hoodie for each team member at that table!! There will door prizes and prizes for the overall all winners - 1st and 2nd place, 3rd place get their entrance fee returned to them. Reservations must be made in advance. Congratulations to the Freshmen Football team who won last night over Burlington, 28 to 6. 9-3
Congratulations to boys cross country team at last nights Clinton Schoolhouse Open. There were many fine performances. At the varsity level Robbie Pogue placed seventh, Alex Trujillo places eight and Chris Capper placed eleventh. At the freosh/soph level Mark Reiter finished seventh and Scott McKillip finished tenth. Congratulations to all and keep up the great work. 9-3
The Central Speech Team will be having it's first organizational meeting today after 4th block in room 306. Anyone interested in joining the team should plan on attending this brief meeting. 9-3
Congratulations to The Central Girls Cross Country team last night. They all preformed extremely well in the very hot weather. The devils were lead by Junior Becca Wilder and followed closely by Senior Nicole Miller.
On the Frosh/Soph side the Lady D's were lead by Sophomore Melissa Rink, followed closely by Sophomores Lexi Baltimore and Katherine Walton. Great Job ladies. Come support the Blue Devil Cross Country teams @ Pleasant Valley this Saturday. See you there. 9-3
Attention All Freshmen: Tonight from 7-9pm in the CHS café is your very own free freshmen dance. The entire freshmen class is invited to attend. Dress casual and come meet your new classmates. 9-3

This Sunday, come out to Stoney Creek Inn in Moline for Rock For Juarez. Tronicity, Firesale, Orbs of Destruction, Demon Ducks, and Racing Sunsets will be performing from 2-7pm.
