Announcements for 08-24-07On Wednesday, August 29th, Environmental Club is having their first meeting. If you are interested in helping to save the planet by recycling cans and bottles, planting trees and flowers, cleaning up parks and rivers, and more, come to room 501 after school on Wednesday, August 29. New members are welcome! Musical auditions will be held Tuesday August 28th at 2:45 in the auditorium. This year's musical will be Godspell. Welcome to Central High. We have lots of exciting activities and club available for you to become involved and have some fun! Wednesday is early out day. Shades of Success/Boys to Men club will meet at 1:40pm in room 419 on August 29th, 2007. What is it? What do we do? Come find out for yourself! Yes, that’s room 419. See Ms. Teague in room 425 if you have questions! Hope to see you there! There will be a Blue Crew meeting in the library at 7:15 on Wednesday, August 29th. All Blue Crew members will need to attend. Attention students if you were not able to pick up yearbooks at registration they will be available Monday August 27th and Tuesday August 28th after school in room 417. Extra yearbooks for those of you who did not get a chance to purchase one last year will also be available on Monday on a first come first served basis for 65.00. Make checks payable to Central Yearbook. Any Central High student wishing to participate in cross country this year should see Coach Tandy in room 309. Any and all are welcomed. Attention Central Juniors and Seniors. If you do not pick up your parking pass by next Friday, the 31st, you will forfeit your parking spot. The list for spots is long and someone else would love to have it so make sure you stop by the cafeteria today to pick it up. You will need your car license number and $35 cash or check. Newspaper student’s 4th, 5th and 6th block. It is imperative that you see Ms Buttleman Malcolm in K14 today before you leave school. Forms are due and the paper must be completed by the weekend. We are moving from 640 today to Kemper lab - so there is plenty to do for students who need to build contact hours. The Kemper lab will be open until 4 today, 10-2 Saturday and 12-5 Sunday. All summer work must be complete and in the network computer by tonight. Also final Philadelphia information is now available. Hey Central students! Do you like hanging out with your friends? Do you enjoy helping your community? Do you want to have a great activity to put on your college applications? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you should check out DCKEY, Central's student-led community service club! Our first meeting of the year will be held next Tuesday, August 28 after school in the west end of the cafeteria. All students are welcome! The meeting will be quick, we promise. Congratulations to the following Army JROTC Cadets who were recognized for outstanding achievement at this years Cadet Leadership challenge, also know as summer camp: Ryan Wilson, Felicia Gillespie, Nick Watson, Nathan Valentine, and Paige Gomez. A special congratulations goes out to Josh Conder who was selected as the Top Cadet for Central High School. These cadets competed against the four other Army JROTC schools in the state of Iowa for this recognition. Please give them a pat on the back when you see them. Way to go Cadets. Attention Yearbook staff: We are rescheduling our scavenger hunt to Wednesday, Aug. 29th right after the early out. Meet in room 417 ready to win. We will socialize after the hunt and see who the big winners are! Make arrangements to be there and see Mrs. Jasper if you have any questions. Also don’t forget Monday and Tuesday’s (Aug. 27- 28) yearbook pass out and sales after school. You are required to help at least one of the two days. See Mrs. Jasper to tell her when you will be helping. All members of last year's Girls Track & Field team, please see Coach Trujillo in room 627.
