Announcements for 5-06-10

  • Attention Newspaper students: Your stories are due Friday in the computer. Make sure you also submit a hard copy in Ms Buttleman’s box.

  • Attention students with brothers and sisters going into 3rd-9th grade. There is still time to enroll them in the ACAP Journalism Academy June 7-16. See Hannah McAtee for applications and details.

  • Come out to Brady Stadium Friday afternoon to see your girls track & field team in action! They will compete in the MAC Championships beginning at 4 pm with field events and 4:30 with track events. Both Varsity and Freshman-Sophomores will be there, and we hope you will be too!

  • Are you creative and love to draw? Do you have school pride? Students who are interested in designing a poster for our 2010-2011 bully prevention program, we will be introducing next year, can stop by room 417 for information. The contest will run next week from May 17 through the 21st. We will then post the contest entrees in the window by the activities office and students can vote for their favorite poster and the winner will be decided on May 28th. A prize will be awarded to the winner. Deadline for entries is May 21st so don’t forget to stop by room 417 for the official rules to the contest.

  • Show Choir try-outs will be on Tuesday, May 11 from 3-8pm. Auditions for Incoming 9th grade students will be on Wednesday, May 12 from 4-6pm. We will hold callbacks if needed on Thursday, May 13 at 3:00pm. Results will be posted at the end of the day on Friday, May 14 on the choir room door and also at Sudlow and JB Young as well as on our web site at www.centralvocalmusic.com

  • A choreographer will attend the auditions to teach a short dance passage that students will be required to learn and then perform on site that day. Students will also need to prepare a short solo of their choice to sing for their audition. Broadway or show tunes are most appropriate for this audition setting but not the only acceptable selections. Music should be supplied for the accompanist at the audition. CD accompaniment without vocals will also be acceptable for accompaniment purposes. Auditions will take place in the choir rooms, directly off of the cafeteria. Please feel free to contact Mr. Reese or Miss Wall in Room 259 with any questions

  • Open gym for boys basketball has been cancelled for tonight.

  • Any students that deposit money through mylunchmoney.com should be aware that it will be turned off May 10th. Checks will no longer be accepted after May 10th. Only cash for deposits. Seniors can start getting their money out of their accounts at any time. Make your request from cashier 1 or 2.

  • And the moment you've all been waiting for! Who are the lucky two winners of the attendance prize this week. Well, they are two students who had no unexcused absences or tardies last week, of course. It could be you next week if you get to class on time every time! This week's winners are (drumroll please): Tim Chapman and Anna Rusch

  • Just a quick note for these two students and any future winners. You do not need to leave class and go anywhere to get his prize. Your prize will be delivered to you, since being in class is important, DUH. What about next week's drawing? RU IN?
