The cadets hosted many different schools and teams from around the mid-west to include all of the Army JROTC teams from Iowa. The manner in which they planned, executed, and accomplished this big task is to be commended. In addition to all of those cadets- there are some individuals that need specific recognition for going above and beyond the call of duty. They are Kathryn Gaskin, Keon McVey, Charles Duhaime, Ryan Klien, and Clint VanDamme. Great Job. 5-5 Sometimes great effort is hard to measure. Sometimes it is seen in medals, trophies, and awards. Sometimes great effort is hard to see? But let me tell you- if you were at the Army JROTC Raider challenge on Saturday at the Rock Island Arsenal, you would have witnessed and been impressed by the great effort of some 100 cadets. Whether is was doing pushups and sit-ups in the rain and cold, running two miles along the Mississippi River in a blistering wind, executing 6 different team events to time, and running a 10K road march carrying equipment and doing it in a little over 60 minutes, the Army JROTC RAIDER Team members of the Blue Devil Battalion from Central and West gave their all for their team. These dedicated Team members are as follows: Team Captain Nick Watson, Ryan Wilson, Daniel Lemus, Josh Wall, Josh Conder, Paige Gomez, Adam Nguyen, Dominic Herrig, Ryan Mena, Megan Watson, Andrew Lemus, Jesse Duran, and Arthur Carter. Again, Great Effort and Congratulations on a job well done!! 5-5 Congratulations to all four Vocal Music ensembles for their performance at the Iowa High School Music Association's State Large Group Contest held at Bettendorf High School.
