Did you know that Thursday is "Poem in Your Pocket" day? This is the first national Poem in your Pocket day ever celebrated in conjunction with National Poetry Month. The idea is simple: select a poem you love, print it on a piece of paper, and then carry it in your pocket on Thursday. Feel free to share it with your classmates, teachers, family, and friends. How about texting a poem to your friends? What about reading a poem at your lunch table? How about adding a poem to the bottom of your emails or posting a poem on your blog or on facebook? Just be sure to have a poem in your pocket on Thursday, as you might just be asked to read it aloud. 4-17
