Announcements for 4-11-08

Attention all CHS students: Starting next week we will be having random hallway sweeps around the hallways of Central High School after the bell rings. If you are in the hallways without a pass, after the bell rings, you will be assigned a 15 minute detention to serve after school by administration. Please make sure you are getting to your classes ON TIME! 4-18

Prom tickets will start on sale in the Activities Office on Monday, April 21st. Tickets are $20.00 in advanced and $22.00 at the door. If you are bringing a student from a different school you must have a permission slip filled out and turned into the Activities Office before the dance. If you need a permission slip you can pick them up in the Activities Office starting next week. “A Time to Remember” is this year’s prom theme. All students are invited to attend this dance. 4-11

Come out to Brady Stadium tonight to see your Boys and Girls Track & Field teams at the Jesse Day Invitational! This is our last home meet of the season, and the teams are ready for a terrific meet. Field events begin at 3:30, track events at 4:00. See you there! 4-11

The one-act directors need to see Ms. Buening in room 305 during the day today (Friday). 4-11

Congratulations to Mark Lazio, and Ryan Nelson for making Academic All-American in swimming. This is a national award given to very few their grades had to be above 3.75 and high standards in swimming. 4-11

Attention all freshman and sophomore baseball players: due to wet grounds and the weather conditions the spring league game vs. North Scott on Saturday has been cancelled. You will have weight lifting right after school today. 4-11

The Girls’ JV Golf team lost to North Tuesday night by 1 stroke. Medalist for the meet was Shaina Barnes with a 48. Also leading Central in the scoring was Kayla Evanchyk, Emily Fritz, and Angie Scott. 4-11

Could Mercedes Masias please stop by and see Mrs. Heninger today in room 501? 4-11

Congratulations to Mike O'Hara for winning an Outstanding Witness award at the Mock Trial State Tournament in Des Moines over spring break. Mike received an Outstanding Performance honor from the Mock Trial judges which is an extreme honor in that only 10 students receive an outstanding witness award in the whole competition. Congratulations to Mike for this prestigious award! 4-11

The Varsity Scholastic Bowl is having a practice on Tuesday, April 15 at 7:00 a.m. in room 501. All Varsity players are encouraged to attend, as we begin practicing for Knowledge Master Open competition. In order to compete in KMO, you must come to one of our practices. 4-14

It's time for the Drama Club One-Act plays directed by CHS drama students. Auditions for two one-acts will be held in the auditorium on Friday 4/11 immediately after school. We hope to see everyone there! 4-11

Hey Blue Devils- want save 10 Bucks (who doesn’t). Then now is the time to order your yearbook before the price goes up ten dollars on April 15th. Plus the next 50 people to order a yearbook in room 417 get treated to a special prize-- Don’t feel left out if you already ordered a book – you too might be a winner. Listen to the announcements all week for your chance to be a winner.

To order a yearbook simply bring your $55.00 to room 417 and claim your prize. 4-11

Attention Central High Students you can now register for the Summer School classes. Applications can be picked up in the guidance office.
