Announcements for 3-05-08There are 100 more state basketball shirts that will be sold by the Main Street Doors today from 1:00-2:30pm. Flashing sunglasses for $6.00 will be sold today during all lunches. You will be the coolest looking fan at state with a pair of these eye catching shades! ATTENTION TO ALL STUDENTS...there are a lot of students hanging out in the building after school. There are also students that are hanging out in the gymnasium area, without a coach, after hours. Please be aware that this is not allowed and we will be enforcing consequences to those students not leaving the building after the school day. IF our basketball team wins tonight against Waukee we plan on organizing student fan buses out of the activities office for Friday's game. We will only sell tickets for $25.00 to students for the fan bus on Thursday during the school day. Please advise, if you are interested in going to the game on Friday, you must bring money to school tomorrow. Attention all 400 Marshall Maniacs who are riding up to Des Moines on a fan bus: Attention Blue Devils: Did you miss your chance yesterday to buy the Quad-City famous Blinky glasses? Today you will have another chance to buy yours in the cafeteria during lunch for the State Tournament Special Price of $6. Good luck Blue Devils! 3-5 A big congratulations to the ProStart students from the Hospitality/Culinary class. Both the Culinary and Management teams won the State competition yesterday in Cedar Falls and are headed for the National ProStart Invitational in San Diego, California in April. The culinary team is Marcus Brandt, Kelsey Daufeldt, Hollee DeSpain, and Teresa Foster. The Management team is Kelsey Daufeldt, Hollee Despain, Dorian Potter, and Erin Waters. Great Job!! 3-5 Mock Trial Teams A and B need to return their permission slips for the Burlington competition by this Friday to Ms. Heninger. If she is not in her room, please leave the slip under the door. 3-5 We will have representative from Capri College at 10:45 am in the guidance office today. Stop and get a pass if interested in visiting with them. 3-5 Congratulations to the vocal and orchestra students from the music department with their exciting and memorable musical tribute to Barb Hess last night in Centennial Hall on the campus of Augustana College. Hosted by Principal Tim Wernentin and former Principal Don Fisher, the concert drew alumni, friends, and family to hear Miss Hess's favorite tunes performed by Iowa's best music department. Miss Hess received a proclamation from the Iowa State Legislature and thanked the audience and musicians saying "This is why teaching is the best profession." Congratulations to all on a wonderful evening. 3-5
