That's some kind of record! Many of you might have witnessed our attempt to find a replacement for Miss Hess during the "Hess Idol" segment of the Central Variety Show. Now we know we will never be able to replace Miss Hess, but we would like to celebrate her retirement and her years at Central by celebrating her birthday. Miss Hess was born on February 19, the day after February 18th, which is President's Day, a school holiday. We will be able to harass, excuse me, celebrate with Miss Hess on her birthday, but we also intend to celebrate the entire rest of the week with a "Miss Hess Week." This will include daily anecdotes about Miss Hess during the announcements and a door decoration contest for first block classes. For the door decoration contest, the classes may select one or more of the following themes: U.S. Presidents, Central spirit, or Miss Hess. Decorations must be completed by Wednesday, February 20. Miss Hess will drive by all the decorated doors and select one winner on Thursday, February 21. The winner will receive breakfast for the entire class on Friday, February 22. Breakfast includes breakfast pizza, pastries, and fruit juice. We hope to see numerous decorated doors during Barb Hess Week to help Miss Hess celebrate her birthday. If you want to know which birthday this will be for Miss Hess, you will have to ask her or just do the math. 2-12 Publications students - the Parents of Publications meeting has been postponed to Wednesday at 6p.m. before the basketball game.
