  • Congratulations to the boys freshman boys basketball team on their win against Rock Island last night 65-64. This completes an amazing 18-1 season for the boys. Great job boys!

  • Congratulations to the JV Bowling Team who had their best outing of the season and captured 2nd place in the recent Muscatine Tournament. Meghan Essary led the way with a nice 221 and every team member was over average including Courtney Loos, Katelyn Bishop, Mary Warhank, Taylor Howard, and Megan Pribble. Way to go Lady Blue Devils. Congratulations also to the Men's Varsity who had their best series of the year and took third place in the Muscatine Tournament. The team was led by Matt Schlueter, Jeff Diggs, and Taylor Uhr who all averaged over 200. This was a great warm up for the upcoming Sub-states. This weekend is the MAC Conference Tournament in Clinton where both Men's and Women's Varsities will be competing for first place victories.

  • Drama club- If you are interested in seeing the play, “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams performed by St. Ambrose Feb19-21st please see Mrs. IntVeld. The admission will be free to all club members.

  • Hey – do you suffer from memory loss? Well, we are here to remind you to get your 2009-2010 yearbook ordered before Wednesday! They can be purchased for $65.00 in the activities office until Wednesday the 17th. We won’t order extras so get your copy ordered today so you can remember all the great things that happened this year.

  • Please remember to give your fourth block teacher $3.00 to pre-order your copy of Indigo Ink. We are only printing 500 copies, so if you want to ensure that you get a copy, please pre-order. If you forgot your money today, bring it to room 501 next week to place your name on the list. We are looking forward to publishing a fabulous magazine this spring, so don’t miss out! Order yours today!

  • What an unusual way to invite someone to prom; it could last a lifetime in print! Get a classified advertisement from the BlackhawK newspaper. Say it your way: 30 words or less, for only $5. Orders are being taken now through Friday, February 19. See any BlackhawK staff member or stop by room K14 to pick up your order form today.

  • Newspaper students your stories are due in the computer and approved Friday Feb 12 by 4th block. Get them in. No exceptions. Grades will be posted on the weekend. Quill & Scroll and editor forms are in Kemper. Pick them up when you deliver your stories.

  • Attention 14th block, all publications students (yearbook and newspaper) must check in Tuesday. Pennies for Press are required of all students. Be ready to tell what you are doing and what lunch.

  • Because of the bad weather last Tuesday the Parents of Publications meeting has been changed to Tuesday February 16. If you are planning to be involved in Brazil activities in Brazil, that will be discussed as the first item on the agenda. Students need to apply for passports now.

  • Students save your pennies and bring them to all lunches Thursday February 18. It is Pennies for Press Day as part of Scholastic Journalism Week.

  • Quill & Scroll members your letter of intent to run for office 2010-2011 needs to be turned into Buttleman by March 1. All members are expected to participate in Pennies for Press Day. See Buttleman today to register your lunch period and what you will be doing for the event.

  • Attention all boys soccer players there will be no open gym this Sunday Feb. 14th.
