Students please remember that if you have un-served detentions or Saturday School you will NOT be allowed to purchase tickets for or to attend Spree. Tickets will go on sale next week in the Activities Office. 2-7-08

Girls in 9th thru 12th grade interested in playing on the Central Girls Tennis team, there will be an informational meeting for you and a parent on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at 6:00pm in the West end of the cafeteria at Central High School. 2-4-08

Tomorrow is the big day! If your planning on going out for the boys track and field team this year, there will be a meeting tomorrow Tuesday 2/5 in room 309 right after school. This will be a short informational meeting. Season starts Monday 2/11 Any questions, please see Coach Tandy. 2-4-08

Congratulations to the Men's swim team for their 5th place finish in the District swim meet, the team finished with a 1022 power points the best in 20 years. Sam Manning Qualified to State in 4 events and Noah Truesdell, Brian Skalak, Brett Ebert and Sam Manning are in the 200 Medley Relay and The 200 Free relay. We wish them well at State in Marshalltown Saturday. 2-4-08

Congratulations to Allison Vandecar for her performance at the IMTA District Auditions. Allison played three pieces on piano and was announced as the winner of her division. From here, she will now progress to the state auditions on March 15th. Congratulations. 2-4-08

Congratulations to Blue Vibrations and Central Singers for their performances this past weekend at the Mount Pleasant Show Choir Invitational. Blue Vibrations kept improving on their show and finished third out of seven groups. They were only four points out of second place! Central Singers continued to climb the ladder by placing third in their division and making the evening finals. In finals, CSI placed third overall and they were a small step away from finishing in second. The crew for both groups were amazing this weekend and the CSI band finished in third place overall, just two points out of first. The next time these groups will be in action will be at Great River Invitational at the Adler on February 15th and 16th, and at the Southeast Polk Invitational outside of Des Moines on February 23rd. CSI will also perform for the Spree Aud this Friday. Congratulations to all of the show choir singers, crew, and band! 2-4-08

All National History Day participants need to come to a brief ten minute meeting on Tuesday, February 5th after school.   At this time, please bring your permission slips for participating in the competition.  See you Tuesday afternoon in room 501. 2-5-08

Congratulations to the Central Speech Team for a great job at Davenport West on Saturday. The team was led by Erin Friedrich who placed in both of her events, receiving straight 1's in 4 rounds of Dramatic Interp. All students planning on attending either District Congress or the State Tournament need to see Mr. Hartje in room 306 some time today. 2-4-08

Attention all love birds… this is a friendly reminder that the school will hold any Valentine deliveries and not call you to the office to pick up anything until the end of the day on February 14th. Please encourage all of your admires to refrain from sending valentines to school. 2-14-08

Newspaper 5th-9th block- wanta-be editors, there is mandatory paste-up tonight until the paper is done. No exceptions. 2-4-08

Publications students the ski trip has been rescheduled for Thursday. For more information if you want to go see David Whalen or Grant Kilmer. Publications students who have a 3.75 com or better need to get transcripts (through B term) to Mrs. Buttleman by Tuesday. 2-4-08

Students, if you qualified for the commons, you will need to have your student ID to enter the commons on Wednesday.
