  • Congratulations to Nathanial Mitchell who is this months Army JROTC cadet of the Month. Cadet Mitchell excels in all aspects of the Army JROTC program. We are very happy he is part of our program. Great job Cadet Mitchell!

  • Central Girls Tennis: Girls in 9th thru 12th grade interested in playing on the Central Girls Tennis team, there will be a sign-up meeting on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at 2:50p.m. in the West end of the cafeteria at Central High School.

  • If you’re interested in traveling to Italy during the summer of 2011, stop by room 615 after school. There will be a parent presentation this Thursday in the auditorium at 7 pm. Contact Mr. or Mrs. Kresse for further information.

  • Hello Key Clubers! We are having our weekly meeting today after school as we do every Tuesday. Please come to see if you are meeting the membership requirements! Everyone should be volunteering for at least 1 activity per month and attending all meeting...every Tuesday. Do you have the points it takes to qualify for Key Club?!? Come today to finds out!

  • The yearbook will be taking the National Honor Society picture this Thursday right after school in the auditorium. If you want your picture to be included in the yearbook, please come to the auditorium.

  • If you are going to Wartburg College on Friday with the TAG group, be sure that you are at North High School at 6:00 a.m. to catch the bus. Bring money for treats, and see Mrs. Heninger if you have any questions.

  • Indigo Ink is hosting a fundraiser February 12th from 6:00-9:00 in the cafeteria during the home basketball game. While you watch our blue devils play basketball, pick up a few scoops of ice cream and as many toppings as you want. Each bowl of ice cream will cost $3.00 and the proceeds will fund the magazine! See you there! By the way, the deadline for all Indigo Ink submission is March 1st. We want your work, and you want to be published, so submit your writing and artwork today! You can give your work to either Kelsey Roebuck, Angela Barr, Tori Quist, or Mrs. Heninger in room 501.

  • The yearbook will be taking the Mock Trial picture on tomorrow morning at 7:20 a.m. All Mock Trial participants should come to room 501 at 7:20 a.m. to have their picture taken. At that time, we can have a brief meeting to assess each team’s progress. See you Wednesday morning.

  • If you are National History Day participant and want to go to St Ambrose on Thursday, you must see Mrs. Heninger today. If you don’t come to see her, you will not be placed on the excuse list.

  • The University of Iowa Upward Bound meeting has been canceled for today. There will be no speaker at West High School today.

  • Newspaper students: Today is mandatory check in. The next issue assignments are posted and due Feb 12. This is the last day to submit mail in competition materials. Transcripts are required. If yours is not up to date in your string book, get one today before you check in.

  • All girls who want to be part of this year’s Track & Field team must come to a meeting Thursday after school in room 627. See Coach Trujillo for more information.

  • Destination Imagination will be meeting today after school to finish paperwork and get an update on all of the assigned areas. Come to room 501 after school for a brief meeting.

  • Could Kinzie Hull, Riley Hopkins, and Matt Hamma come see Mrs. Heninger sometime today.
