Announcements for 2-01-10
Congratulations to the CHS Jazz Bands on some outstanding performances this weekend at the IHSMA State Jazz Band Festival. Jazz Band I earned a Division I “Superior Performance” rating and Jazz Band II earned a Division II rating for an “Outstanding Performance.”
Hey Central—Time is quickly running out to purchase your 2009-2010 yearbook. The last day to order is Feb. 17. The cost is $65.00 in the activities office. The list of students who have already purchased books is hanging on the main office windows is you are unsure if you have purchased one. Don’t delay the deadline is coming fast—don’t miss the memories!
Indigo Ink is hosting a fundraiser February 12th from 6:00-9:00 in the cafeteria during the home basketball game. While you watch our blue devils play basketball, pick up a few scoops of ice cream and as many toppings as you want. Each bowl of ice cream will cost $3.00 and the proceeds will fund the magazine! See you there! By the way, the deadline for all Indigo Ink submission is March 1st. We want your work, and you want to be published, so submit your writing and artwork today! You can give your work to either Kelsey Roebuck, Angela Barr, Tori Quist, or Mrs. Heninger in room 501.
Reminder to all "Freshman Success Group Students" who are carrying progress cards. Please be sure your progress card is filled out completely by all your teachers and turned in to the Main Office before 2:45 today!
The yearbook will be taking the Mock Trial picture on Wednesday, February 3rd at 7:20 a.m. All Mock Trial participants should come to room 501 at 7:20 a.m. to have their picture taken. At that time, we can have a brief meeting to assess each team’s progress. See you Wednesday morning.
To the cast of “We have a Dream”, performed by the drama club. All cast members meet in Mrs. IntVeld’s room right after school today. We will be handing out the final script, the practice calendar and going over the program. If you plan on being in the show, you must come so we can get the final cast list together. Don’t forget!
All National History Day participants need to return their registration forms and permission slips to Mrs. Heninger by Thursday, February 4th. If you are planning on going over to St. Ambrose University library on Thursday next week, your permission slips needs to be with Mrs. Heninger by this Monday. Come see Mrs. Heninger if you have any questions and check your emails.
Intramural Basketball 3 on 3 Tournament Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday February 9, 10, 11. 700 am in the New Gym, to sign up see Coach Peterson, or Swetalla in PE Offices. 4 players on each team, round robin play with finals on the 11th.
Attention all students. If you are late to first block you have a 15 minute detention that needs to be served within three days after school in the auditorium. If you are late to second, third, or fourth block you owe the classroom instructor a 15 minute detention. Students who do not serve their detentions will be issue a 1 hour detention. All detentions need to be served in order to attend the Spree Dance on January 30.
All girls who want to be part of this year’s Track & Field team must come to a meeting Thursday after school in room 627. See Coach Trujillo for more information.
Destination Imagination will be meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) after school to finish paperwork and get an update on all of the assigned areas. Come to room 501 after school for a brief meeting.
