The Strayer-Rairden Scholarship in Physics $1,000 January 30, 2010 Be a resident of Iowa. Must attend the University of Iowa and major in physics or astronomy. Must have taken the Drake Physics Prize Examination. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit. U of I Physics Dept
H.L. Taylor Scholarship (Iowa PTA) $500 February 1, 2010 H.S. Senior, average or above average record. There must be an active PTA in your school district. Must attend an accredited Iowa School, no special career interest required. Guidance Office

Mariah Becker Memorial Scholarship N/A February 1, 2010 Must be a senior at Davenport Central High School with a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale. Shows enthusiasm for life and shown through school involvement and the extracurricular activities with school, church and community. Must be a full time college student. Personal interview with scholarship committee. Guidance office - only applications received directly from the school will be accepted.
Central High School Scholarship for Teacher Education $3,500 per year February 1, 2010 Must graduate from Central High School. Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher. National Commission for Cooperative Education Scholarship Varies February 15, 2010 Must have a comulative GPA of 3.6 or better on a 4.0 scale. Students must be accepted and complete all the required admission materials at one of the 8 NCCE partner college/ universities listed below. AXA Achievement Community Scholarship $2,000 February 15, 2010 Must be a high school senior who is planning to enroll in an accredited 2 or 4 year college or University. Dorthy Klindt Memorial Scholarship $1,000 March 1, 2010 Must be an entering freshman at Iowa State who is enrolled in the college of Human Sciences. Selection is based on academic work and demonstrated leadership and community involvement. Guidance Office
Eastern Iowa Light and Power Cooperative Scholarship Program 15 - $1,000 & 5 - $500 Must be postmarked or deliver by March 15, 2010 Must be a high school senior. Student’s parents or guardians must be members of Eastern Iowa Light & Power Cooperative. Application forms will be available by mail, from the Web site or at any Cooperative service center after January 1, 2010.

The Uncommon Student Award $5,000 March 31, 2010 With your application for you send in a proposal for a project, which you can accomplish, that demonstrates the talent Herbert Hoover showed in problem solving & organization skills. The project can focus on an issue in your school, church or community. The project must be realistic so that you can show accomplishment.
