Nabil Mussa, from Tanzania was in for a surprise when he first arrived at Central. “It is too different from my school back home,” he said. “Everything.” It wasn’t an unpleasant surprise, however. He is looking forward to excelling in both academics and extracurricular activities. “At Central, I am wishing to do better in school,” Mussa explained. “Also, I am wishing to accomplish my goals so when I return back home I can give back to my community for what I have experienced.” This year, along with his classes, Mussa plans to partake in environmental club and soccer. Back at home, he spends his time just like any teen in the U.S. “I play soccer and hang out with friends,” he said. When asked why he wanted to come to the United States, Mussa said that he wanted to have more life experience. He also explained that he wants to be able to tell his children about his time in America and possibly see them visit as well.
