Legacy Leaders Share Message of Leadership
May has been a busy month for our Legacy Leaders! Members of the group had an opportunity to listen to Matt McDowell, the Director of Camp Excel Leadership Academy. Mr. McDowell spoke with students about what it takes to be an effective leader, the importance of seeing the value in others, and what it takes to be successful in life.
Students took Mr. McDowell’s messages into practice. Lavonta Baker spoke to some students at Jefferson Elementary. His topic was “How to Say No”. The students learned the importance of making good choices, respecting others, violence prevention, and did some role playing. Special thanks to Mr. Marshall Pass for inviting Legacy Leaders.
In addition, Alonzo Wilkinson Rios and Anthony Jack spoke with students from the Well-Suited Club from Hayes Elementary. The students shared their experiences of being in high school. They also discussed the importance of making good choices, getting good grades, choosing the right friends, and getting involved in positive activities. After the presentation, the Well-Suited Club ate pizza and took a tour of Central.
Thank you to all of our Legacy Leaders. You all have such a positive impact on our Blue Devil community!
