  • Blue Devil Qualifies for State Cross Country Meet

Freshman Merin Crowder became the first-ever female from Davenport to qualify for the State Cross Country meet at the 5K distance! Prior to 2015, the race distance was 4K, and there were four Central females who advanced between 2002 and 2014. Prior to 2002, the race distance was 2M. Merin finished 9th at the Pleasant Valley District meet. The top 15 individuals from each of the five districts, along with the top three teams from each district, advance to the State meet on Saturday, November 2, in Fort Dodge. Merin’s time was the fastest ever run by a Central female on the Crow Creek course. Congratulations, Merin!
