COACH’S COMMENTS

What a terrific way to end our regular season! 52 season bests, 6 meet records, a school record, and a team victory lap! Just as we’ve been planning all along, we’re performing at our best as we get ready for championship week in fourteen days. Those of you who didn’t have a season-best this week are so close as to not be a concern. There are two reasons why you’ve been turning in great times or distances. One is the hard training we’ve done, and will continue to do. This is the most specific training of the season; be prepared for intense, focused workouts! The other reason is entirely up to you: competitiveness. All the preparation in the world is useless without the drive and determination to compete hard against your opponents! To perform up to your best requires that you take some risks, and be willing to test yourself beyond what is comfortable or what you think is possible. Nothing great was ever achieved by being cautious or timid. Visualize yourself being bold and taking risks, and prepare yourself for a peak performance in two weeks!
