  • Arts Expo High School Art Competition

    Thank you to student artists:

    • Keema Simmons
    • Branden Leon
    • LaDella Ghallager
    • Hayden IntVeld

These talented students produced this year’s mural for the Arts Expo High School Art Competition. They are on display on the first floor of Bucktown and will be on display during the month of June. The final viewing will be Friday, June 29th.  Bucktown will host the Expo’s  reception for the students and give out awards. There were 10 teams that participated, and our students chose to do a difficult topic, gun violence.  They handled this topic with class and sophistication. With gun violence affecting schools and neighborhoods across the nation, students chose to use art to express what they are feeling about what is going on in the world today. Great job to all who lent the piece their own individual interpretation of not only the problem, but the solution as well.
