Yearbook and Locker Clean Out
During the week of June 1-June 5, all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors will be allowed to come to campus to collect items that may have been in their hall and gym lockers, to pick up their yearbooks, and to gather other odds and ends, including any musical instruments that may have been checked out. If you need to retrieve items from a Physical Education locker, you will need to fill out a request via this Google sheet to obtain your items
In order for us to maintain social distancing and to provide the safest possible system for all involved, students will be required to sign up using a Google Calendar that is linked here:. https://calendar.google.com/calendar/selfsched?sstoken=UU5ZazJiNVdmSDJhfGRlZmF1bHR8ODUxZGQ1OGE3N2IwOTQyMjI5NTIzY2ExOGZiYmEwNTU
Pickup will be in the PAC parking lot, using the traffic pattern shown in the map linked here: https://dochub.com/jon-flynn/8YZWO9NV82Gq9LzRzEAy30/item-pick-up-jpg. Students/families will be asked to remain in their vehicles and will not be allowed to congregate or socialize before or after picking items up.
Students taking Concurrent/EICC courses–a June 8 drop off date is being organized so that you can return items needed for your courses.
Yearbooks will be available for pickup for students who PRE-ORDERED during the course of the school year. Unfortunately, the overstock that was available has sold out at this time.
As you may have heard, the IGHSAU and IAHSAA have allowed Iowa high schools to have baseball and softball this summer. The Mississippi Athletic Conference has decided that only varsity-level competition will be held. More information about tryouts is available on the school website.
Return to Learn
As the school year winds down–June 5 is the last official student day–the DCSD is working on a “Return to Learn” plan that must be submitted to the state by July 1. This plan will detail contingency plans for the upcoming school year and will be guiding our work for 2020-21. Please remember that any students with C-Term grades that have been marked as Incomplete (“I”) will have the opportunity to develop a plan of action with their teachers and will have 10 days to complete assessments/required work when live instruction resumes. In addition, C-Term grades that were marked as “Passing” (“P”) will have no negative impact on students’ grade point averages.
As this plan is developed, it will be communicated from the district and our school. Stay tuned!
