Hall of Honor Recipient
Laura K. Shawver, Ph.D., is on the cutting edge of
cancer research. Holding membership in the American Association
for Cancer Research and the American Association for the Advancement
of Science, this young scientist has published some 17 manuscripts, is
credited with 27 abstracts and has 3 patent applications in the area
of growth factors, oncogenes and intracellular signal transduction.
In high school, Laura was recognized for her
abilities and contributions in music and was a member of the first
girls basketball and volleyball teams and participated in track.
Currently in her spare time she plays Rugby with
the California Bay Area Shehawks. In 1992 and 1993 the team
captured the Pacific Coast championship as well as the National
Championship.
