James C. Hester
Class of 1963
Inducted in 2003

    Jim was an integral element in many civic and community organization.  He was appointed by Gov. Branstad to serve on the Iowa Commission on the Status of African American.  He served as a member of the Board of Director for the Boys Scout of America, 100 Black Men, Scott County Empowerment Board, United Way and many others.  He was in the Masonic Hiram Lodge #19.  Jim served on the Davenport School Board for 13 year as vice president and most recently as president.  He was a former NFL football player
