Hall of Honor Recipient

Frank Folwell
Class of 1930
Inducted in 1991

    Frank Folwell is a highly respected “silent” philanthropist and humanitarian who have given untiringly in action and deeds to assist the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of people.  As the successful owner of a local chinaware business, Frank shared his leadership abilities with innumerable local organizations.   Included among these re Kiwanis Club, Davenport Scott County UMCA, Meals on Wheels, Discovery Shops (for American Cancer Society), Quad-Cities Big Brothers - Big Sisters Program, Ridgecrest Village, Good Samaritan Nursing Home and the First Presbyterian Church where he maintains a scholarship fund.

    His interests in serving others extends to the University of Dubuque, Hillcrest Endowment Society, Buckhorn Children’s Society of Kentucky (for underprivileged children) and the University of Iowa.  In 1990, he gave $350,000 to establish a Chair at Rust College, in Mississippi.  His gift was designated for the School of Business Education to improve educational opportunities for minorities.

    Frank is a behind-the-scenes contributor and an unpretentious active citizen who serves for the benefit of others, individually and institutionally.
