Class of 1968, 40th ReunionWelcome to the Class of 1968 Homepage! Reunion Recap:40 Ohhhh, my gosh” Where have the years gone? THAT was the realization on Sept. 26th & 27th, 2008 at the 40th anniversary of our graduation from Davenport Central High School. The unofficial Friday night gathering was a good chance for about 60 classmates to reconnect. Classmate and Carriage Haus owner, Bob Lank, welcomed us with banners, a band, and delicious appetizers he and our class provided. Most of us found ourselves asking, “WHO is that?” On Saturday night we met at the River Music Experience (formerly Petersen’s department store) for an evening that included dinner, a program, music and dancing. Looking at our individual histories, our high school years were our shared experience. Bruce Cheek began the event noting the historical events of 1968. Kathy Keller Finkler evoked those memories and entertained us with a Power Point show featuring photos of our senior year. She brought some of her favorite clothes from the 60’s and even her baton! Kathy reacquainted us by highlighting classmates, then and now. Thank you, Kathy!!! The return of Sara Zugazaga from Buenos Aires, Argentina was exciting! Sara was an exchange student who lived with Bonnie Rees. Bonnie re-established contact after 35 years and they pulled off a surprise reunion with the Rees family. We classmates were thrilled to see Sara again and we had a great time remembering together! About 92 people attended to include 61 classmates. Some attended for the first time, though most of us have been to several or all of the reunions. Whether our classmates are involved in international, national, local or family matters, we have all made a difference in our world! Many people remarked how GLAD they were to have attended the reunion! The experience brought old friends together. It also resulted in the making of new acquaintances and even some new friendships. The evening prompted nostalgia, reflection, and connection. Each of us left remembering when we were young. And each of us left mindful we are NOT getting any younger!! Those attending the 40TH REUNION were:
