Centennial Celebration 2005

Our year-long centennial celebration culminated with the June 19, 2005 festivities that included an ice cream social, march of students up Main Street, band and chorus performance, speeches from dignitaries, display of the new time capsule contents, tours of the building, and most importantly, family and friends socializing and reminiscing about life at their high school. The day was a smashing success by all accounts. Festivities for the weekend began the night before with an alumni band concert and the world premier of our own Fred Morden’s “The Red and Blue.”

Two new time capsules were sealed, one in the exact location from which the original 1905 time capsule was exhumed and opened (with contents on display at our DHS/CHS museum), and one sealed adjacent to the museum. If you have DHS or CHS memorabilia you would like to donate, we would love to have it! Drop off in main office.

Thanks to the many people of donated time, money, and effort in making the Centennial Celebration a year-long success!

Good people are good because they've come to wisdom through failure. We get very little wisdom from success, you know.
