Math Department Retake Policy

Students may retake tests* under the following conditions:

complete extra material as assigned by teacher (i.e. worksheets, assignments, one-on-one work with teacher, etc.) before retaking test
retake the test prior to the following test
retake the test outside regular class time, at a time assigned by the teacher

Students are allowed to retake tests in an attempt to further their understanding of the subject. Note that students will not retake the exact same test they took for the first attempt.

Final score for the test will be the average (arithmetic mean) of the original attempt and the retake. Note that students who receive a lower grade on the retake will receive a lower overall grade for the test then if they had not retaken it.

*Some teachers may use terms other than "test" to describe what you can retake. Your teacher will explain what you can retake and what you can't. Students can not retake final exams or district assessments.
