  • 42nd Annual High School Invitation

    Congratulations to all students who had a piece of art in the 42nd Annual High School Invitation hosted by the Quad City Arts. This is our biggest art show of the year! This is a juried show and winnings can include art materials, portfolios,and scholarships awarded anywhere from $50 to top prize of $1500. This year we had eight students receive awards as well as a Teacher Award! A special congratulation goes to:

    • Hope Van Patten was awarded the Rock Island Art Guild Award
    • Isabelle Critten was awarded the Mississippi Valley Wood Carvers Award for the best use of wood
    • Branden Leon was awarded the Hilltop Campus Village Award
    • Schroeder was awarded the Carlo Centore Award for mastery of technique
    • Aleah Beecher was awarded the Excellence in Clay Award
    • Nicolas Zepeda was awarded for Excellence in Film Award
    • Lois Blackman was awarded the Quad Cities Arts Staff Award
    • Mr. DiGioia was awarded 2nd place for Teacher’s Award

    And a super huge shout out to Emma Dominicus and !!! She was awarded two awards:

    • Most Creative concept
    • Senior Scholarship sponsored by Morecy Family Foundation and anonymous donor

    With these two awards Emma won a total of $1600!!!!!!


    The Central Art Department is very proud of everyone who had a piece in the show. The show is located at the QC Art Building in Rock Island and will be up from now till the end of April. Keep up the great work Central artists!
