Several parent information nights have been scheduled for families of incoming 11th and 12th grade students (those who will be in 11th and 12th grade during the 2014-15 school year) in the Davenport Community Schools. The meetings will provide an opportunity for parents to learn more about the Creative Arts Academy, a unique educational experience offering high school students who aspire to careers in the arts and creative fields.
These high school students will concentrate on their required coursework and other electives at one of the DCS high schools in the morning and in the afternoon take arts electives offered by the many downtown arts partners in their specific areas of expertise. Two examples are the visual arts and museum studies courses hosted by the Figge Art Museum, as well as vocal and instrumental music opportunities hosted by the River Music Experience.
The information meetings will be held:
- Monday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. North High School media center, 626 West 53rd Street, Davenport
- Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m. Central High School auditorium, 1120 Main Street, Davenport
- Wednesday, April 16 at 6:30 p.m. West High School media center, 3505 West Locust Street, Davenport
