Our District has been working hard to reduce its daily energy use in buildings by following simple steps such as remember to turn the lights off when no one is using a room. This teamwork has helped us save money on energy costs over the past couple of years. The Energy Conservation Committee wanted a way for students to get involved so all schools were offered the opportunity to take part in an Energy Conservation poster contest. The District received outstanding entries at the elementary, intermediate, and high school levels, but only one winner in each category could be chosen. A panel selected the top poster entry at each of the three levels.
For the Intermediate Level, our own Eleanor Rubalcava-Hernandez, 7th grade Communication and Media student, under the instruction of CAA teacher Ellen Craig, had the top entry! Our school will be awarded a $200 check at the Board meeting on Monday, April 10, 2017 and her poster will be displayed in the board room along side the other winners.
