Proposed Boundary Changes for the Davenport Community Schools
Proposed Budget Reductions for 2013-2014 and the Proposed Five-Year Budget Reduction Recommendations
The Board and Administration of the Davenport Community Schools are very appreciative of the the public interest in both the budget issues facing our district over the next five years and the proposed boundary changes for the 2013-2014 school year. The District budget was approved and certified by the State for the 2013-2014 school year. We continue to work on the proposed boundary changes, and are continuing to ask for your input.
We have made some additional changes to the proposed school boundaries for Fillmore and Harrison Elementary schools and will present these changes at two upcoming meetings following an overview of the A.L.I.C.E. school safety program. We will have boundary maps and our Director of Operations will be available to answer other specific boundary questions. The meetings will be held:
- Wednesday, May 1 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Eisenhower Elementary school gym, 2827 Jersey Ridge Road. A Vietnamese translator will be available at this meeting.
- Wednesday, May 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Sudlow Intermediate school large gym, 1414 East Locust St. A Spanish translator will be available at this meeting.
These community meetings will provide an additional opportunity to review the proposed boundary changes, ask questions, and offer feedback to the Davenport Community Schools Board and Administration. We hope you’ll be able to join us.
We encourage parents and interested community members to attend any or all of these forums. The forums will provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about these proposals, ask questions, and offer input to the Superintendent and our Board Members.
