Central Environmental Club Recycles and Spruces Up Campus
...Thirty-three members, one of the most in Central High’s history, have been active in Environmental Club this school year. They volunteered approximately 60 hours to recycle an estimated 42,000 cans and bottles, which would stretch out nearly five miles if laid out end-to-end. The club also spent Mother’s Day weekend taking care of Mother Nature by planting 25 new plants in the Main Street flowerbeds as well as cleaning up the beds and Central’s campus....


Sudlow Campus Receives an Upgrade
The landscape at Sudlow has changed recently as eight new trees have been planted. There were a variety of species planted: red maple, sycamore, swamp white oak, red oak, and bald cypress. These were either replacement for previous trees or added to the landscape to improve its appearance. This was the result of funds received from the blood drive Sudlow hosted last year. Approximately 50 people including CHS students, their parents, and staff members turned out Saturday morning (April 20, 2013) to help landscape the Main Street entry to the building. United Way Day of Caring at Sudlow Intermediate
...As part of the United Way Day of Caring on August 21, several John Deere employees spent time beautifying the Sudlow Intermediate School campus. DCSD Hosts Pre-School Roundup
The Davenport Community School District will host a Pre-School Roundup for students who will be 3 or 4 years old by September 15, 2017. The event will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28 and from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 at Children’s Village West, 1757 West 12th Street, Davenport (next to the Putnam Museum).
