Although the USDA signed a waiver for all United States kids to eat free meals at public schools, individual schools must qualify based on economic need. The Davenport Community School District must apply through the state of Iowa for this funding program. Currently the state of Iowa is NOT accepting applications until the USDA can clarify several regulations. Until the state of Iowa determines how to handle this new regulation, DCSD will continue to charge for meals based on student status.
Non-CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) schools include: Central, North, West, Sudlow, Walcott, McKinley, Harrison, Eisenhower, Blue Grass, Buffalo, and Adams. These students will continue to be charged for meals. All other schools are already eligible for free meals through the CEP program.
