The Families First Coronavirus Act allows states to issue Food Assistance benefits to households with children in Pre-K through 12th grade who lost access to Free and Reduced Price School Meals due to pandemic-related school closures in Spring 2020. This is called the Pandemic EBT Program. The benefits/card will be mailed and received by families between July 14th and July 21st, 2020. All students at CEP schools and all those who qualify for free or reduced meals will receive the benefits.
There are two ways eligible children will receive their $307.80 in Food Assistance benefits:
- If a family received Food Assistance (SNAP) benefits anytime in April, May, or June then the amount will be loaded onto their regular EBT card.
- If a family is eligible for and receives meals via the National School Lunch Program but does not receive Food Assistance (SNAP) they will receive a special P-EBT card via U.S. mail. The benefits/card will be mailed and received by families between July 14, and July 21, 2020.
