Congratulations to the Class of 2020!
While this year certainly did not look the way many of us planned, it does not take away from the incredible accomplishments of our Davenport Community School District students. These seniors have taken on challenges, adapted and are well-prepared to take the next steps and ascend to greatness.
We’ve heard from many parents and students via email and on social media after last weekend’s virtual graduation on KWQC and yesterday’s email sent by principals, and we’ve listened.
Just this morning, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has further relaxed restrictions for the State of Iowa, as long as “guidelines set by the Iowa Department of Public Health, including social distancing guidelines and proper sanitization” are followed.
With that news, the Davenport Community School District is excited to move forward with hosting a live, in-person graduation experience for each high school on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Brady Street Stadium.
This graduation experience will give students and their families the opportunity to receive their hard-earned diploma in their cap and gown, take family photos, see staff and peers, and celebrate this milestone.
Each principal will be emailing out additional logistical details for families and students soon.
We celebrate the Class of 2020 and thank our students and parents for their hard work, dedication and drive to get them to this incredible achievement.
We look forward to seeing how the Class of 2020 will change our community and our world.
