This morning, Governor Kim Reynolds ordered all Iowa schools to close for the remainder of the 2019 – 2020 school year. With this news, all Davenport Community School District schools will remain closed through the end of this school year.
As a District, we have been diligently planning multiple scenarios during this closure and can now focus our attention and energy squarely on today’s decision from the Governor’s Office.
We know that this closure brings up many questions, and we appreciate your patience as we outline next steps per the Governor and Iowa Department of Education’s recommendations.
The DCSD team will be working hard this weekend to iron out the details of what this means for our students, teachers and families. We will send out a communication on Monday with a plan of what’s to come next.
Stay safe and healthy!
