German Language Students Visit Chicago Cultural Attractions

As part of the German language curriculum, 26 students from Central and 16 students from West had the opportunity to go to Chicago to visit educational and cultural attractions at the Museum of Science and Industry. Students saw the exhibits on German history, the Swiss Jolly Ball, the “Christmas around the World” and “Holidays of Light” displays (featuring holiday trees from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), the Stuka Dive Bomber, and the German U-boat exhibit. After visiting the museum, students headed to the Christkindlmarket in downtown Chicago, where they shopped for German goods and interacted with vendors who come from German-speaking lands.
