Davenport Students Attend Quad City Youth Conference

Davenport students at Youth Conference

Central, North, Mid City, and West High students were among the 500 to participate in 12 workshops on coping with stress, using their voice for change, making positive connections, rising strong, and many others at the Quad City Youth Conference. Central’s Shades of Success members, Daejonna Nelson, Liliana Pizano, Rizma KC, Pendeza Etandu, and Riziki Furaha, along with Zandra Rodriquez, Prevention Specialist at Center for Alcohol and Drug Services, spoke to about 90 junior high students about the negative effects of tobacco, the third year the students have spoken at this conference. Students also made great connections with members of the community during a community fair to learn more about jobs and other activities to be involved with in the Quad Cities.
