North iJAG Students Attend Des Moines Leadership Conference

iJAG Career Association Officers

On Thursday, November 2nd, North High Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) students attended the Leadership Development Conference at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.  iJAG Career Association Officers (pictured) Ebony Baylor (VP of Fundraising/Media Relations), Demeia Johnson (VP of Career Development), Trace Wruck (VP of Community Awareness), and Marissa Gomez (VP of Leadership Development), learned more about their roles within the association, polished their leadership skills, and collaborated with students from the other 48 iJAG programs within the state about action plans in their own classroom and community. They also interacted with Keynote Speaker Bill Cordes during his “You Only Get What You Put In” program, which is designed to engage students, enrich school culture, and build relationships.
