Central and West Students Win at Career Conference Competition

On May 4th, Central High iJAG students attended the annual Career Development Conference at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny, Iowa, demonstrating leadership as they competed against iJAG students from other schools in various career-oriented events. Zach Taylor placed first in Critical Thinking, and Aysia Thomas placed third in Public Speaking and second in the Junk Game (creating and marketing a self-made product). Other Central students who participated included Da’Shae Parker, Hevyn Barnes, Arthur Bell, Treshawn Milton, and Drevyn Barnes. West High sent Alicia Long, Brenna Bedwell, Halle Store, Chris Cash, Ryne Schroeder, Amanda Menchaca, and Israel Yzaguirre to the competition. They won the Newspaper Shelter Challenge and also brought home three medals: one for the best product in the junk game, one for their career banner, and one for the cover design competition.
