The Davenport Community School District has been working hard on energy conservation for the past several years and we’re showing savings to the budget. Recently our District’s Sustainability Council, which has been working on energy conservation, launched a contest open to Davenport Community Schools students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. We challenged students to create a “poster” with a logo and tag line to encourage students and employees to save energy. The first place winner in each level- high school, intermediate school, and elementary school-would receive a $200 check for their school. We had outstanding entries at all grade levels which were judged by a panel.
The winning entries at each level were:
- High School: Jarod Schueller, 9th grade, West High School
- Intermediate School: Eleanor Rubalcava Hernandez, 7th grade, Creative Arts Academy
- Elementary School: Harrison Elementary School 5th Grade TAG Development Group
Congratulations to all who entered the contest!
