ProStart Management Team Places Second at State Competition

ProStart students competed in the 2017 Iowa ProStart Invitational on February 28th in Des Moines against teams from all over Iowa. The management team of NaStasha Fouse, Markeya Steele, Gabrielle Houk and Gabrielle Baysinger (pictured left) won second place. Central’s Fundamentals of Baking dual-credit baking course also held in a pastry competition where students selected and prepared their pastry creations as a team, which were judged on taste and plating (pictured right). Two teams tied for first place: Alyssa Spidle, Cory Steverson, Shane Vernon, and Emily Schipper with their chocolate cake with Oreo frosting and Charlee Rosales and Garrett Thomas Bloom with their chocolate truffle pie.
