Video of Central High School Choir Students Goes Viral Across Nation

Students sing on flight

Central High School choir students traveled to Europe this summer as a part of the Iowa Ambassadors of Music tour. During their flight home, the pilot announced that a service member was onboard, escorting the remains of a WW2 soldier back to his hometown. After landing, the pilot directed passengers to allow the service man and the WW2 soldier’s remains to be repatriated, leading everyone off of the plane. It was at this point that students joined together to sing The Battle Hymn of the Republic as a touching act of respect and honor. The song was caught on video by Diane Cupp, who was on her way home from Germany to Tennessee. Diane’s video has since gone viral, even to be featured by Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford on The Today Show. Please click here to view Diane’s original footage.
