The Davenport and Bettendorf Community School Districts have joined together to host a Pack the Bus event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 23rd at Schnuck’s 858 Middle Road, Bettendorf (Duck Creek Plaza). Please join in fun activities for families including face painting, waterballoon activity, and hotdogs and brats on the grill. It’s also an opportunity to drop off school supply donations for the First Day of the Quad Cities School Supply Drive to help meet the needs of Davenport and Bettendorf Community Schools students. It’s easy to support the First Day School Supply Drive. First Day Poster 2016 offers more opportunities for you to help ensure that students with financial need have the necessary supplies to start the school year feeling confident and prepared.for the first day of school!

West’s boys also have some cause for celebration, with a 1-0 win over Dubuque Senior that sends them to this year’s state baseball tournament. Stepping Stones is an award-winning afterschool program collaboration between Davenport Community Schools, Davenport Parks and Recreation, and Iowa State University Extension. Registration can be done in person at the Stepping Stones office located at 318 E. 7th Street, Davenport, Iowa. Office hours are 7:30AM – 4:00PM, Monday through Thursday. Forms are available at the Stepping Stones office or on the Stepping Stones web site:
New forms must be completed each year. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Please call if you have any questions: 563-528-0973. We offer the Stepping Stones program at the following schools for the 2016-17 school year: Adams, Buchanan, Eisenhower, Fillmore, Garfield, Harrison, Hayes, Jackson, Jefferson, Madison, McKinley, Monroe, Truman, Washington, and Wilson Elementary Schools.
