Davenport Students Support Village in Bloom

On Saturday, May 7th, 11 Davenport schools entered classroom sculptures in and over 60 Central High National Honor Society (NHS) members volunteered for the Village of East Davenport’s Village in Bloom festival, which celebrates the arts in memory of Isabel and John Bloom. Art exhibits showcased Isabel’s and John’s work as well as those of area children and teens, including sculptures composed of locally available recycled materials; clay sculptures; exhibitions of Isabel and John’s original artwork; performance groups showcasing their talents as singers, instrumentalists, puppeteers, dancers, and actors; and other arts activities. NHS members helped with crafts, chalk art, face painting, performances, and greeting attendees.
