Students Visit Des Moines to Advocate for Equal Funding Bill

Several area students and teachers traveled to Des Moines on February 15th as part of the “We Are Not Worth-Less” movement working to change legislation that allots Davenport Schools $175 less per student than many other Iowa districts, a mountainous amount when multiplied by the number of students enrolled in our schools. Students addressed Governor Branstad directly about the issues with the antiquated school funding formula from the 1970’s and actively advocated for change. They even presented Governor Branstad with a “Worth-Less” T-shirt.
