Davenport Community Schools recently asked the community to help out with shoe donations for students in need, and the response was overwhelming! The district reached out with its request for shoes through flyers, email, school and district web sites, news coverage on KWQC-TV, and an appearance on “Paula Sands Live.” Over 500 pairs of shoes were donated by DCS families, staff, and community members. Dozens of pairs of shoes have already been distributed to students in the district, and remaining shoes will be organized and stored for future distribution as needs arise. DCS families with a need for shoes can contact their school’s Nurse, Counselor, or Family Involvement Liaison, or send a request via email to Cindy Broadie at firstname.lastname@example.org . Thank you to all of our generous donors!
