Traditionally, the Davenport Community School District has permitted the distribution of materials from our non-profit community partners informing our families of programs and activities that are focused on improving the health, education, or welfare of our students. With the start of the school year, the Davenport Community Schools has launched a new approach for making this information available to our families. Our new Virtual Backpack allows us to offer this same information electronically through our district website. We’ve made this change based on feedback we’ve received from parents, through surveys and focus groups, regarding the large amount of paper being sent home with their students. Community partners will still have the option of providing up to 100 printed copies of approved flyersper school to be placed in the Parent Resource area or Main Office. Teachers will continue to sent assignments and materials home with students, particularly at the elementary school level. Parents will want to continue checking their child’s backpack frequently for school information. You can access our Virtual Backpack through the quick link on the left-hand side of the home page of this website or click on Virtual Backpack.
