At the 2014 IHSAA State Swimming Meet, the Central High School Boys Swim Team set three event records for the school and also set a combined school record with 1217 points.
Luke Eure broke the school’s backstroke record twice, with his best time clocking in at :51.64. Luke placed 3rd at the state meet with a time that is only 1.5 seconds behind an All-American student. Luke also placed 5th in the 200 IM. Another school record recorded at the meet was actually a tie of one set in 1981 – a 200 medley relay time of 1:41.62. Swimming that relay was Luke Eure, Mitch Berendes, Joseph Shie, and Andrew Skalak. In the 400 free relay, Joseph Shie, Andrew Skalak, Luke Eure, and Nick Moeller placed 21st at the meet.
Congratulations to all students for a job well done at State!
