Davenport School Museum Houses Earliest Writings of Pulitzer Prize Winner Susan Glaspell

The Davenport Community Schools Museum is a treasure-trove of information that encompasses the distinguished 155-year history of the Davenport Community Schools. Beginning in 1858 with the consolidation of six established schools into a Davenport Public School system and the appointment of the first school superintendent in Iowa to present day online learning and dual graduation opportunities, our schools have offered unique opportunities to generations of Davenport school children. Recently, some of the earliest known writings of one of Davenport Community Schools’ outstanding graduates, Pulitzer-prize winning playwright Susan Glaspell, were re-discovered in the museum.
